Cause a Disruption

Image

Today was a disruptive day. Events  of the day caused emotions  to be from a to z on the map of feelings.  So to help release today and to fulfill the prompt for Bloom True Boot Camp – I smeared blotches of color all over the background. My usual style is 2 or 3  colors, but tonight I filled the pages with 8 different colors to show the disruptive – chaotic day.

Next stage was to scribble on all across the pages. I will then cover it in white paint only leaving some circles of colors and scribbles exposed. I will let it dry over night and then trust my intuition to know where it should go next tomorrow.

Artist Date

Image

Julie Cameron author of The Artist’s Way, which I read for the first time in the mid-90′, was the first time I was exposed to the concept of an Artist’s Date. I haven’t read The Artist’s Way for years, but it sits on my bookshelves as a book that had influence on my life as an artist.

I had grand ideas for when I first saw that prompt, but I wasn’t able to do an artist date out and about as I have had a migraine the last 2 days. So instead I took some me time, by staying in bed longer this morning. I read some of Voyager by Diana Gabaldon and then the little love in the photo came to get attention and pets from me. It ended up being just the kind of artist date I needed to help me through my migraine and on to other tasks and art time.

Photo Scavenger Hunt

Flora Bowley gave these 10 inspiring views to find for the prompt:

*Explore shadows and light.
Find complimentary colors (blue + orange, red + green, yellow + violet)
Take a close-up photo of the natural world.
Capture something in motion.
Find repeating patterns.
Take a photo of something you love.
*Look up. What do you see?
Look down. What do you see?
Take an “artsy” photo of your art supplies
*Take a loving self-portrait. You can do it!

I did the ones with the asterisk and might add to them this weekend. The second photo fulfilled 2 of the prompts.

Your Life in Lines

Image

I am not sure this fit the intention of the prompt for Bloom True Boot Camp, but it fit me for the day.  I just went with what felt right in the moment…trusting my intuition. I did this line outline of a woman that is Dina Wakley inspired. I then added my elements of line scribbles, circles and writing on to the page.  I had insomnia last night so I felt sluggish all day so saying “hello” was the bravest thing I did today.  Because it was a hard sluggish day  having the quote over the crease seemed right to me even though artistically it is a bad move. Again I am about trusting the moment and what feels right with my art so I went with it.

Sensual

Image

darbycaseysensual

This photo is from yesterday, but fits today’s prompt for #bloomtruebootcamp: Sensual. A rain puddle in our yard. I stood outside yesterday taking photos. Trying to capture those ripples from the rain drop hitting the puddle. But you know what was even more lovely and sensual – feeling the rain hit my skin. After snapping some photos, I looked to the clouds above and just stood in the moment feeling each drop hit my face and arms. Wash away every thought and feeling except what I was feeling in the moment. Allowing me to savor the moment.  Lovely and sensual.
